The Ohio Pawnbrokers Association (OPA) encourages its members to give back to the community, and offers guidance to pawnbrokers on how to get involved locally. The OPA works to provide pawnbrokers statewide with resources and tools to strengthen the pawn industry. OPA members are committed to operating their business in such a manner as to enhance and promote the positive and professional image of all pawnbrokers. Fraternal Order of Police Cleveland Lodge #8:
The Fraternal Order of Police Cleveland Lodge #8, located at 2249 Payne Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio was founded in 1934. It proudly serves its members as the labor representative for the supervisors of the Cleveland Division of Police as well as the fraternal organization for their active and retired members. The national trade association, Jewelers of America, has been established for businesses that serve the retail marketplace for fine jewelry. They promote consumer confidence in the jewelry industry. The Jewelers of America was founded in 1906 and is located in New York City. Jewelers of America provides it’s members with the tools they need to achieve and succeed in the fine jewelry retail marketplace.
National Pawnbrokers Association:
As a trade association, the NPA supports nearly 2,600 members. The Association offers guidance to pawnbrokers on how to be involved on a local, statewide and national basis. In addition, the NPA offers members compliance training related to the federal, state and local laws that apply to the industry. It provides it’s members with the resources and support for enhancing the image and acceptance of pawnbrokers through action, representation, and Best Practices. This organization represents pawnbrokers and pawn shops and their interest through education, mentoring and legislation. The Jewelers Security Alliance is a non-profit trade association with 20,000 members that has been providing crime information and assistance to the jewelry industry and law enforcement since 1883. They are located in New York City. The JSA fulfills its mission of informing and alerting jewelers about crime through frequent E-Mail Crime Alerts and print publication, a web site, seminars and consulting activities. JSA also works closely with the FBI and local law enforcement agencies, sharing its data and analysis in order to further the war on jewelry crime. To contact the JSA, click here.

Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association:
Uncle Ben’s Pawn Shop is proud to be a sponsor of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association. The CPPA was formed in January, 1969 to provide mutual aid and protection, to provide for the general welfare of it’s members, and for the betterment of all Patrol Officers, their families, and members of this community. Their commitment and purpose is the continuance and furtherance of their pledge to strengthen and unite their members in their struggles to protect their rights and achieve their goals. Black Shield Police Association:

Uncle Ben’s Pawn Shop is a Federal Firearms Licensee. We have held a Type 2 Federal Firearms License (FFL) since 1968. The requirements of a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) are overseen by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE). One of the primary missions of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is to provide direction and advice to the firearms industry regarding the Federal firearms regulations. The television series is filmed in Las Vegas, Nevada. It chronicles the daily activities at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.
